NObama!

"President" Obama (or President NObama as he's known in many circles these days) isn’t being very Presidential.  He is offering little-to-no leadership, hope, or even common decency to the people that elected him, and even less to those who didn't.  Pre-election campaign "promises" were apparently just comments or possible suggestions here in the "real world".

Really now, how much CRAP are we going to take from this guy?  How much is really enough before we all stand up and scream "Get the hell out!!"?  I know I've just about hit my boiling point.  NObama is dragging OUR country through the mud, and most citizens are just sitting back and ignoring it.  This is why he is getting away with it.

Legally let alone ethically, does NObama even have a leg to stand on, or is he - as it sure seems - just winging it?  He is spending truck-loads of OUR cash and showing NO results.  He is attempting to sneak bills through Congress unnoticed.  He is ignoring campaign promises.  He is, in general, being quite the asshole in fact.

So, what can, will, or even might happen?  How many people can you step on, lie to, deceive, and rip-off before some one person does something drastic, or for the majority to stand up and say "no more"?  Something is going to hit the proverbial fan, that much is certain.  People will sit back and eat crap for only so long.

What can we do?  Write your representatives, for a start.  Write them all and often.  Sign petitions; if you can't find one that fits your particular complaint(s) then start your own petition and get as many people as you can to sign it.

Don't know who your representatives are?  Start with these links:

Find your Senators by state

Find your Congressperson by state and Zip Code

Let your elected officials know exactly how you feel, and tell them that you are keeping an eye on them and that their actions now will be taken into account during their next election.

It is your right and your duty to speak up and do something.  This current trend of lies and deception cannot be allowed to continue.  NObama must be held accountable.  Can we really afford to wait for him to further damage our country, our budget, and our hope for any sort of future?  HELL NO!

Don't wait for someone else to do what you need to do.  You need to care, and you need to speak up.  Otherwise, you'll have no one to blame in the end but yourself.

The President's Presence

Blindly following our nation's leaders is never a good idea, obviously.  However, "What happens in the White House should stay in the White House", or something to that effect, can become good policy, and beneficial to our nation's success.

For instance, in the good old days when a President, etc., did something naughty, the Secret Service (or whoever) would "clean up" the mess.

In today's media-charged internet world, however, every single thing is reported down the the most minute detail.  When President Clinton played, uh...hide-and-go-suck with Ms. Lewinsky, the media spared us nothing of the gory story.

OK, now it's time to look at the facts:
  1. Bill Clinton is a man (so I hear), and men tend to think with their little head.
  2. President Clinton is also a person, and not just a figurehead and one of our country's more embarassing Presidents.
  3. People, by our very nature, make mistakes (yes, you too).
  4. Most "normal" people aren't dragged up and down shards of broken glass for the delight of the masses (and the profit of the media).
The point I am trying to make is this - we wasted how many man-hours and tax dollars just to ridicule our country's elected leader and the bimbo dumb enough to get caught up in it all?  We probably don't want to know the answer to that question.

Honestly, it would have been better to make the problem "just go away".  No, I don't mean in a Sopranos sort of way, but our nation and the people therein really did not need to know about any of it.

It undermines the entire system of government - a government that definitely needs no additional undermining.  Besides, by the time we found out about it, it was already over.  That is obviously a load of shit that cannot be put back into the horse (isn't that cruelty to animals anyway?).

We need, as bad as can be, to be able to trust and put our faith in, our President.  I'm sorry, but there it is.  Anything else weakens our great country and serves no useful purpose.  It just lines the pockets of the mega-media empire that already sucks as much cash out of us as they can.

Take a map of your neighborhood and draw a wide circle around your house.  I bet that the vast majority of you cannot place a finger on every single house on, in, or around the circle that does not have a cheating partner in it, even if you don't even know about it.  Hell, most of you have either experienced it and/or committed it.

Does this excuse the President, etc., and give them a golden "Get Out Of Jail Free" card?  No way.  But, weighing one evil against another, I'd much, much rather have a strong nation I can believe in than read some tabloid story about who stained whose dress with what in the White House.

Is this post solely about President Clinton?  Not by a long shot...he is just easier to pick on than other Presidents since his "affairs" were more recent than most.  I personally have nothing against the guy, the exact opposite in fact.  He did a great many things to help the USA, many of which were never even noticed by most citizens.

If you are really that bored, go out and do something good for your country; help the homeless, pick up litter, shave a dog for humanity, whatever.  Either quit bitching, or make a difference yourself.  Worry more about what the President is doing to our taxes and less about what they're doing to their staff.

Stupid Little Crybabies

You suck.  ALL of you suck.  You know who you are.

I'd like to give an example of the way some people view the world, in their sick, perverse little way:

You are visiting the doctor's office after receiving a letter in the mail that you STD/STI test came back positive and he/she did in fact give you the herpes and crabs you deserve.

Scenario #1:  After the usual 4-6 hour wait in the exam room, the doctor comes in and washes his hands.  After thoroughly washing his hands, the Doctor turns off the fuacets and takes a few paper towels to dry his hands.

Scenario #2:  After the usual 4-6 hour wait in the exam room, the doctor comes in and washes his hands.  After thoroughly washing his hands, the Doctor dries his hands then uses the paper towel to turn the water off.

Those of you scratching your heads trying to figure out the difference may go the the head of the class.

The rest of you are complaining that in scenario #1, the Doctor contaminates his clean hands by touching the faucets directly after washing.  At the same time, you are whining that in scenario #2, the Doctor is wasting water by leaving the faucet on while drying his hands, even though this is the best way to keep from re-soiling his hands.

This is a perfect example of what is going on in our nation today.  No matter what anyone does, we go out of our way to find the downside.  This goes for the President of the United States, law enforcement officials, your neighbors, and even the guy next to you in traffic.

Instead of focusing on the negative, be happy with the positive...find the silver lining or whatever.

In scenario #1, be happy that the Doctor didn't use their clean bare hands to turn off the water.  In scenario #2 be happy that the Doctor didn't waste water by leaving it running while they dried their hands.

To those argumentitive jerks that are trying to change my scenarios to fit their needs, FWHAT OFF!  No, there is no automatic sink or towel dispenser.  No, there is no hand sanitizer.  I am basing my scenarios very carefully on my last visit to the Doctor's office, and around scenario #1 which is what really happened.

Baby-Banners

Banning breastfeeding from the Internet is like banning milk from public schools.

What idiot brought up that gem?  Aside from breathing and making babies, there is nothing more natural than a mother nursing her infant.

See what I did there?  I switched from "breastfeeding" to "nursing" easily - we are so ignorant and self-conscious that we had to change the name of breastfeeding to "nursing" so it would not sound so "offensive".

Breastfeeding; there, I said it.  Breasts and babies and mother's milk and boobs and infants and nipples and sucking and feeding.  If you get a rise out of the last sentence (and I use the term loosely), then you are not mature enough to be anywhere near a site that could even possibly show a mom feeding her baby the good old-fashioned way.

Heck, if you are mature enough and are still offended in some perverse way, then don't view movies or photos online that deal with breastfeeding!  Visit Disneylandfill instead.

And The Pig Says...Moooo

No matter what you do, someone will criticize you for it.  The old saying is true; there really is no way to please anyone all of the time, or even everyone at any given time.

The problem with "We The People" of the United States of America though, is that most of the people here actually go out of their way to disagree with anything and anyone they can...it's our national sport apparently.

Not only do you see it every day, you probably do it every day, in one form or another - hey, I'm guilty too.

Here are some examples:
  • Speeding up, even just a little, so the car on the freeway on-ramp cannot get in front of you.
  • Changing lanes in front of someone when coming to a stop light so you are only behind two cars...instead of three.
  • Nothing is ever your fault.  For example, when you get in a minor fender-bender, somehow it is always the other person's fault.
  • Blaming someone else for something that you yourself do, like cussing the guy or gal at the convenience store for not moving his/her car after filling up with gas and then taking their sweet time shopping in the store, then at a later date leaving your own car at the pump while you take your sweet time in the store.  Another example could be honking at the vehicle in front of you for not noticing the traffic light turning green...even though you've done the same thing yourself, even if by accident, while thinking about work, kids, or anything else.
  • Whining about the slob that peed all over the toilet seat at work, although there are times you didn't clean up similarly after yourself on more than one occasion.
The easiest method for ALL of us to make life better for ourselves and everyone else comes from a very long time ago - "put the shoe on the other foot".  It's even easier than it sounds; just think of what the other person would be doing/thinking/screaming if you were in their place and they were in yours.

When you speed up to make that car on the on-ramp get behind you, think about what you would be yelling at the person on the freeway that sped up to cut you off.  MAKE yourself be a little nicer, and slow down just a bit so that the person can merge easier, and hopefully they will remember your act and return it in kind to someone else.  Doing the "right thing" really can be contagious...think about it and I'd bet that you can even think of a time where you softened up a little after someone showed you a little courtesy.  I know I can.

Try a little experiment - attempt to catch yourself automatically getting annoyed and switching to your "pain-in-the-ass-just-like-everybody-else" mode, and then relax a little.  Take a few deep breaths, lay off the caffeine, whatever.
  • Let the car next to you that is trying to get over to your lane change lanes in front of you...it really will not slow you up much more than maybe a few seconds.  Think of how it would make your day if just one person slowed up so you could change lanes without having to force your way over.
  • Let the poor soul that only needs to purchase an item or two in front of you at the checkout line...even if you only have a few items yourself.
  • Don't fight over that sweet parking spot...you know, the one that is a whole two or three spots closer to the door than all the rest.
  • Act like the world doesn't belong to you...leave that public toilet seat the way you would want to find it; put something back where you found it at the store; say "please" and "thank you" more often; leave a slightly better tip than you usually would - a couple of dollars isn't much to you, but it sure makes your waiter/waitress's day a little brighter; hold the door for someone instead of racing to the entrance/exit so you won't have to hold the door; hold the elevator a few seconds more so the person running to get in won't have to wait a few minutes for the next car; actually try not to let your car door hit the vehicle next to yours; pick up that trash that missed the garbage can you threw it at and dispose of it properly; take a whole minute of your day to find a garbage can or ashtray instead of acting like you can throw your trash wherever you like (cigarette butts are litter too!); and so much more.
  • If you happen to finish off the coffee pot or empty the water cooler at work, take the time to make a fresh pot or replace the water jug...you would really be surprised how far that little act of kindness can go.
It all boils down to rerouting your "normal" thoughts and actions to those that focus on other people, instead of just yourself.  This usually requires a conscious attitude correction, but usually results in just a few moments of your time to make someone else's day...which can make you feel better too.

Work on it.  Help a friend work on it.  If even just some of us can redirect our anger and impatience toward something more productive, the world will surely become a friendlier place.

Iraq V2.0

(Prologue:  This edition may appear to go against the grain of yesterday's post, but I assure you they are on the same track.  Please do not confuse my dislike of President Obama with my patriotism and love of my country.)

I was in the service during "Iraq V1.0", then called Desert Shield and finally Desert Storm, and volunteered my services and my life to the cause.

Many of us at the time, knew it was a bad idea to stop the war at the time the "powers-that-be" decided to call it quits.

Unfortunately, here we are, doing it all over again.  "Iraq V2.0", AKA Operation Iraqi Freedom or whatever you want to call it, is a vital necessity to the United States.  Yes, vital.

To all of you whining babies out there that simply have nothing else to complain about, get a fucking life!  Do you really not remember a certain Tuesday in September, 2001?  Wait, I know.  Since it didn't affect you personally, it's not a mission important enough to support.  Is that it?

Many people know that if we pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan now, we'll be playing "Iraq V3.0" later, perhaps after another major attack on the USA stirs us up again.  Can we really afford to wait for that??
No!  We need to truly finish what we started.  Too many people blame George W. Bush for the whole WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) thing.  Do any of you really think he conjured up the WMD scenario all by himself?  He has advisors for exactly this sort of thing!  If his "intelligence" community tells him there are WMD's in Iraq, he tells us there are WMD's in Iraq.  He didn't just wake up one morning, after we were attacked on our own soil, and say "Hey, I know!  Lets lie to the public and tell them there are WMD's in Iraq so they will get behind us and support us!"  That my friends, is a total load of crap.  If President Bush tells us there are WMD's in Iraq, it's because he thinks there are WMD's in Iraq.  If you really feel the need to blame someone, blame our "intellegence" people.

Even if it were true (which it is not), he shouldn't HAVE to lie to us to get us to support him!  WE WERE ATTACKED!  Right here at home, against CIVILIAN targets specifically.  That all by itself should make your blood boil enough to join the cause.  You should be so pissed off that, if you were in charge, you would nuke every hole Osama bin Laden could even possibly be hiding in!  Of course, that is extreme, but I hope you get my point.

If you buy a used car, and after the deal is closed the salesperson says "You know what?  I'll even throw in some free tires", this is exactly how you should feel about our current situation.  Osama bin Laden IS the target, and Saddam Hussein was the "free tires" bonus.

I am a Patriot.  A true Patriot.  Not an "I'm a patriot when and where it suits my needs" fake-triot.  I have always supported my President, virtually unconditionally.  Granted there are some decisions the President makes that throw me off balance a little...remember Monica Lewinsky?  Other than that, I support my President because it is the best thing for my country.  I served under many presidents who held rank as my Commander In Chief, and some of them earned it outright.  Others did not, but it does my country no good if I sit back and speak badly of my nation's leader.

And so it is with President Obama.  I may not like the guy personally, but I will do my best to support him in whatever the future holds for all of us, for better or worse.
And, if I catch you speaking poorly about my President?  That is your right, but if you hate the guy so much, I hear Mexico and Canada have some vacancies -so get the FWHAT OUT!

I love my country.  So much that in my younger days I even volunteered to die for it.  If the fight ever comes home...again...I will be there protecting my United States to the bitter end.

If, Heaven forbid, my own government should ever perform in a manner that goes against the wellbeing of this country, it is my duty and privilege to take action there, too, to protect my nation "from all enemies, foreign and domestic".

The position of President is one of a leader.  A leader leads - a dictator takes control.  What I am saying is that we should never expect the President to "fix" our problems all by himself.  He should, instead, lead by example and guide us toward being the nation I know we can be.

If you have a problem or complaint, do something (legal) about it!  Don't just sit on your ass disrespecting your elected President, waiting for him/her to make it all better.  We ALL have the responsibility to maintain our status as the "Greatest Nation On Earth".

NObama?

"Bittersweet" sums up my feelings about this last presidental election as well as anything else, I suppose.

I am extremely impressed with our nation for electing our first black/African-American/whatever-the-current-PC-term-is President, I really am.  It shows that, hopefully, our country can finally look at the issues at hand rather than at the color of someone's skin.  Congratulations, USA, we have reached a major milestone here!

That is the "sweet".  The "bitter" is the fact that Obama was elected at all!  Yes, I voted for the "other guy"...sue me.  As is my right, I really do not like Nobama bin Laden.  I feel that he lacks the experience and the decision-making skill needed to hold the position of President.  At the same time, I hope he proves me wrong, and becomes one of the greatest Presidents we've had.

Face it, elections these days are more of an "I voted for candidate X so candidate Y wouldn't win" scenario.  When is the last time we truely felt connected to a President?  When did we cease to care?  It really doesn't help when our own elected state officials - who are supposed to be representing their constituants - vote against the people they represent.  Electoral votes are where the money is, and what we the people think is vastly unimportant by comparison.

For the last ten Presidents or so, President Reagan excluded, the masses have not really stood behind our leader.  When Kennedy was shot (I will not open that can of worms at this time), a great feeling of loss swept across the nation.  How many people would have wept for Nixon or Clinton, four?  Maybe five, but family members do not count.

What we need is a President that offers encouragement, advice, and honest commitment to our nation.  Of course, President Obama cannot please everyone, but for Heaven's sake - please try!  When is the last time a President tried to please the people over pleasing the establishment?  I think President Reagan tried his best, though even his hands were tied when it came to matters that threatened the agenda of the government.

The problem is this:  We keep electing politicians instead of citizens.  This is what made Ronald Reagan great over everything else - he was one of us.

Until WE say "No more!", WE can never be in control.  Until WE put PEOPLE into the Senate and Congress and the White House instead of politicians who harbor their own personal agendae, we will continue this downward sprial of distrust in our Government, displeasure with our current economic state, until we can feel safe at home and in public, and so much more.
